A LIFE ONCE LOST: 'Firewater Joyride' Video Posted Online
October 4, 2007Critically acclaimed psych-metal quintet A LIFE ONCE LOST's new music video — for the song "Firewater Joyride" — will make its online premiere today via MTV's new Headbanger's Blog. Check it out now at this location. The blistering track, which features mountaintop-friendly hooks and spiraling, southern-fried riffs is taken from the band's ambitious new album "Iron Gag". "Firewater Joyride" will also make its world television premiere on MTV2 on Saturday, October 6 as part of the network's long-running "Headbangers Ball" program.
"Firewater Joyride" was filmed in ALOL's hometown of Philadelphia, PA with director Troy Coffee. The video, shot on blue screen and laden with kaleidoscopic color treatments, features ALOL abducting a "suit" and taking the square on white lightning-fueled hitch with vocalist Robert Meadows doing his best to "man the wheel."
"The 'Firewater Joyride' video idea came from the title of the song," dishes ALOL guitarist "Snake Sustaine". "We came up with the idea in conjunction with local experimental film director Troy Coffee. In this video, we hit an unsuspecting dork with our hot rod while RIPPED! We decide to throw him in the car and take him on the 'Firewater Joyride' with us. At first he is a little hesitant, but by the end we are riding into the abyss as one. This video is meant to be fun! Metal bands take themselves too serious in videos these days. Yeah man, you look really 'brutal' playing along unplugged to your own CD."
